97th Floor has been growing like crazy the last two years, we built this beautiful new office, we will be knocking on the door of 50 employees (2 years ago had 7) by years end and every team here has several household names they are working on. We also just won Agency of the Year at the 2014 Stevie Awards. All of us have had our heads down working really hard for our clients and it has been paying off. So much so that it is time we look into expanding into different markets.
While it’s about 60/40 with 60% of our clients out of Utah we have really good relationships and a great presence here and I would like to pursue that in other states. I have had NY and CA on my thoughts for a long time now and with my wife and I both being from Southern California it seemed like an easy decision. So this month I am moving my family to Orange County CA to get it all started. Wayne Sleight our newly minted COO (follow him on Twitter if you don’t already) has done such an amazing job at helping and managing the growth at our company he will be running the Utah office with me periodically checking in.
I announced this to the company last week and while we are all bummed not to be working side by side as much, the general consensus was excitement for growth and change. I reassured everyone that this was not so I can work on my tan but to grow 97th Floor’s presence in a location that is ripe for us as a business while being part of my families personal plans.
So there you have it I am returning to my roots and becoming a California Resident again I could not be more excited for both the business and my family. My wife and I planned on staying in Utah for a year when we moved up. I came up for a job with some friends and planned on learning a lot about Digital Marketing and then returning to California to start a business. Two kids a mortgage and a dog later we have been here for 11 years and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It is absolutely gorgeous in Utah, the mountains were a good band-aid for missing the ocean. Not to mention snowboarding with my sons is one of my favorite things to do. The Jazz will stay my team and we plan on always keeping Utah a part of our lives, the experience here has far exceeded our expectations.
If you are in SoCal hit me up.
